On March 27, 2020, the Mongolian government informed the U.S. Embassy in Ulaanbaatar that it intends to offer a limited number of seats on an upcoming flight arranged for foreign citizens wishing to depart Mongolia.
MIAT Mongolian Airlines will operate one flight to Tokyo, Japan (Narita International Airport) on Wednesday, April 1. The exact time of departure is not yet available, nor are exact ticket prices.
The Embassy will assist you in reserving a ticket on this flight. You must confirm your intent to depart by sending an email to UlaanbaatarCoronaVirusEmergency@state.gov by 08:00 am on Monday, March 30. Please include a picture of the bio page of your passport.
However, you, the traveler, will be responsible for paying for your travel. You are also responsible for arranging your own onward travel from Japan to the United States, as well as any lodging (if necessary).
