Anti-COVID-19 Measures Extended in Ulaanbaatar

Anti-COVID-19 Measures Extended in Ulaanbaatar

On January 4, 2021, the Mongolian government announced that the current state of “all-out-preparedness” and associated anti-COVID-19 measures in Ulaanbaatar will be extended for five additional days, until 0600 on January 11.  Public celebrations of Lunar New Year from February 12-14 have also been prohibited.  This decision came after a number of new positive cases were reported from unknown sources.

If no new sources of infection are registered during this time period, the government intends to begin easing restrictions, although the strict lockdown may be extended if new sources of infection are reported.
