Hack UB was a technology-based, eight-day hackathon with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship through an application design and coding competition. The hackathon supported the development of 10 web services and mobile applications to help connect visitors and residents with local information on Ulaanbaatar-based businesses, services, events, and activities.
Hack UB was held at the Startup Terminal, a co-working space that supports local entrepreneurs, and was attended by 160 people, 30 percent of whom were female programmers and entrepreneurs.
The winner of Hack UB was team Tech Miners, which developed an app that will provide visitors with a customized travel itinerary in Mongolia.
