Joint Outreach to Umnugovi and Dundgovi Provinces to Promote U.S. Government Programs in Mongolia

U.S. Embassy Ulaanbaatar Consular and Public Affairs Sections representatives conducted a joint outreach trip to Umnugovi and Dundgovi provinces.  From September 29 to October 2, they met with local government officials and secondary and polytechnic college teachers and students.

Consular Chief Thomas Venner held meetings with local government leaders, police, and hospitals to discuss future collaboration and issues concerning American citizens living in the region. He also spoke with technical school and high school student groups about the visa application process. Public Affairs section representative D. Badamsambuu introduced educational and cultural programs offered by the Embassy, such as Fulbright, Global UGRAD, and Study of the U.S. Institutes.

Over the last year, the Consular Section has conducted outreach trips to 11 of 21 Mongolian provinces in collaboration with the Public Affairs Section.
