Khaan Quest 13 Opens in Mongolia

people shaking handsExercise Khaan Quest, one of the world’s largest training exercises focused on peacekeeping operations, officially began as military leaders and senior government officials from the U.S., Mongolia and other regional partners gathered August 3 at the Five Hills Training Area in Mongolia.

Khaan Quest 2013 is a platoon through battalion level, multinational peacekeeping operations exercise conducted in Mongolia. It consists of a command post exercise (CPX) and a field training exercise (FTX) at the Mongolian Armed Forces’ Five Hills Training Area, as well as Engineering Civic Action Program (ENCAP) projects and Cooperative Health Engagement (CHE) events which are taking place in and around Ulaanbaatar. The exercise is designed to improve peacekeeping capabilities, strengthen military-to-military relationships and enhance the core competencies of all participants.
