Exercise Khaan Quest, one of the world’s largest training exercises focused on peacekeeping operations, officially began on June 22, 2014 with an opening ceremony at the Five Hills Training Area in Mongolia.

Co-sponsored this year by U.S. Army Pacific, and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, and hosted annually by Mongolian Armed Forces, Khaan Quest is a regularly scheduled, multinational exercise. It consists of a command post exercise (CPX) and a field training exercise (FTX) at the Mongolian Armed Forces’ Five Hills Training Area, as well as Engineering Civic Action Program (ENCAP) projects and Cooperative Health Engagement (CHE) events which are taking place in and around Ulaanbaatar.

Khaan Quest 2014 is the latest in a continuing series of exercises designed to promote regional peace and security. This year marks the 12th anniversary of this training event.
