On April 15, Peace Corps Mongolia volunteers met with English Access Micro-scholarship Program participants to mark Global Youth Service Day. Now in its 28th year of celebration, the goal of Global Youth Service Day is to motivate local youth to foster societal change and become active community members.

Peace Corps volunteers David Meeske, Mrig Mehra, Greg Schroeder, and Candice Macon visited a cohort of Access students. During their visit, they highlighted the importance of volunteerism, as well as their experiences and volunteerism in Mongolia during a discussion with the students. More than 30 students attended the lecture and participated in a follow-up Q&A session.

The English Access Micro-scholarship Program provides English language skills training to economically disadvantaged youth through after school classes and intensive sessions. To learn more about the Access Micro-scholarship Program, click here.
