PRESS RELEASE
In 2021, the U.S. Department of State’s flagship international exchange program, the Fulbright Program, is celebrating its 75th anniversary with the theme “Impact: 75 Years of Global Actions, Opportunities, and Connections” with virtual and in-person activities and events worldwide and in Mongolia to showcase the program’s positive impact on individuals, institutions, and communities in the United States and around the world.
Founded in 1946, the Fulbright Program now operates in 160 countries and has provided over 400,000 people from all backgrounds – recent graduates, teachers, scientists and researchers, artists, and more – an opportunity to advance knowledge across communities and improve lives around the globe.
The Fulbright Mongolia Program started with the very first Mongolian Fulbright Student traveling to the United States in 1994, and since then has facilitated almost 500 two-way exchanges that have strengthened our binational relationship and forged lasting connections between our two countries.
In observation of this milestone, we will highlight accomplished alumni, host monthly Fulbright alumni talks, and organize virtual and in-person events. We invite our Fulbright Mongolia Program participants and partners to celebrate with us by sharing your Fulbright stories by using #Fulbright75 on social media and by participating in and/or hosting activities and events that celebrate the Fulbright Program’s 75th Anniversary.
Please visit www.fulbright75.org for information. You can follow the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs on Twitter @ECAatState and Facebook here for the latest updates on the celebration, as well as the Fulbright Program on Twitter @FulbrightPrgrm, Instagram here, and Facebook here. We look forward to the next 75 years of Fulbrighters enriching their educations, advancing their careers, and making meaningful contributions to society.
