This summer cadets from the United States Military Academy (USMA), along with two faculty team leaders, are gaining valuable work experience in Mongolia while making a positive impact on the local community. Their projects range from promoting healthy child development in local orphanages to nomadic husbandry preservation in the steppe.
In partnership with the Mongolian human rights NGO Onol Arga, some of the cadets held workshops for local law enforcement officials aimed at promoting awareness of prisoners’ rights and the prevention of domestic violence. In order to reach a wider audience, they also built a website and have been active on social media. You can learn more about overseas volunteer projects by visiting Projects Abroad Organization.
